Durham Region Public Health Requirements
To help ensure food safety and compliance with applicable regulations, all food vendors participating in the Multicultural Pop-Up Market are responsible for complying with Durham Region Public Health requirements.
Do I need to submit paperwork to Durham Region Public Health?
Yes. Durham Region Public Health has advised that food vendors participating in special events are required to complete and submit a Food Vendor Special Event Application.

Is there information available for event organizers?
Yes. Durham Region Public Health also requires event organizers to submit a Special Event Application.

What are the recommended submission timelines?
Durham Region Public Health recommends:
• Event Organizer Applications: at least 45 days before the event
• Food Vendor Applications: at least 30 days before the event
For the July 18, 2026 Multicultural Pop-Up Market, Durham Region Public Health has advised that applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis due to the proximity of the event date.
Food vendors are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.
Are food vendors responsible for obtaining approvals?
Yes. Each food vendor is responsible for submitting any required forms, permits, approvals, and documentation requested by Durham Region Public Health.
Can I cook on-site?
Food vendors may prepare and serve food within their designated vendor space, subject to Durham Region Public Health requirements and applicable regulations.
Cooking inside the church kitchen is not permitted.
Is refrigeration available?
Limited refrigerator and freezer space may be available; however, availability cannot be guaranteed.
Food vendors should bring their own coolers, ice, and food-safe storage equipment as needed.
